  7.             programs and enhancing batch file limitations. Recent revisions 
  8.             offer a long list of improvements over previous versions, including 
  9.             increased performance, shell capabilities, Quick Start introduction, 
  10.             many more function and sample utilities, and a new 32-bit 
  11.             extended-memory mode. This update allows for launching applications 
  12.             with environment-variable inheritance, file redirection and piping, 
  13.             history, and many internal commands. New 'literal strings' protect
